Do you want to set a timer for your child's playing/reading that wont stop them with intrusive sound?
TotTimer uses a simple full screen of color to alert when a certain time is reached. This prevents waking the toddler or disrupting the current activity with a noise.
Our personal experience:
- We use this to let our toddler know when they can get up in the morning. We placed an old tablet out of reach in their room and patiently instructed that they can get out of bed in the morning when they see the colorful screen. This is an improvement over an alarm/noise since we dont want to wake them up if they are still sleeping.
- When we want our child to play or read on their own we set a timer, then set the device down in their view. If they get lost in playing/reading they can continue without being interrupted by an audible alert.
- When we give them time to look at toys in the store this has helped us have smoother transitions. We have noticed that a loud timer can aggravate a child, especially if it interrupts their fun time. Pointing them to the color on the screen has been less jarring to the child in our experience.
Tip: Engage the child by letting them choose the colors.
